Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information DeskOwls collects, why, and what we do with it. DeskOwls is operated by Rob Stone in Belen, New Mexico, USA. Questions go to hello@deskowls.com.

Information you give us

When you fill in a form on this site, for example to book a demo, we collect what you enter: usually your name, business name, email address, phone number and any message. We use it to reply to you, set up a demo, and provide the service you ask for.

The in-browser demo

If you try the live demo on our home page, your voice is processed so the AI receptionist can hold the conversation, and a transcript is shown on screen. The audio and transcript may be processed and briefly stored by the voice and AI providers that run the demo. Please don't share sensitive personal information during the demo.

Calls, texts and bookings we handle for our clients

When DeskOwls answers calls or messages on behalf of a business that uses our service, we collect the information callers give, such as name, phone number, address, the reason for the call and appointment details, and pass it to that business. Calls may be recorded and transcribed so the business can review them and so we can improve the service. In that situation the business is responsible for its own customers' information, and we handle it on the business's behalf and on its instructions.

Text messages

If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive texts, we may send messages about your enquiry, appointments or our service. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help. We do not share or sell mobile numbers or text-messaging consent to third parties or affiliates for their marketing.

Website analytics

We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use this site, for example which pages are read and where people click. Clarity uses cookies and records anonymised page interactions. You can block cookies in your browser settings. Microsoft's privacy statement explains how it handles this data.

Who we share information with

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers we need to run DeskOwls, such as telephone and text-messaging providers, AI voice and language providers, calendar and customer-management software, email delivery and web hosting, and only for that purpose. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep information for as long as we need it to provide the service, meet our legal obligations and resolve disputes, and then delete it. You can ask us to delete your information sooner.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing hello@deskowls.com. We'll respond within a reasonable time.

Security

We use reputable providers and take reasonable steps to protect your information. No system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

Children

DeskOwls is a service for businesses and isn't aimed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
